Reading the scientific literature is important. Our departmental and divisional seminars take you even closer to the source.
The department maintains a vigorous weekly seminar program featuring outstanding speakers from academic institutions and other laboratories and industries.
Departmental seminars are normally scheduled at 4:00 PM on Friday in the Jones Physical Science Center, Room 006. Additional seminar information is available at 803-777-2597, or you can email the seminar coordinator ([email protected]) or stop by our office in the John M. Palms Center for Graduate Science Research at 631 Sumter Street, Room 113. Our address is Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC 29208.
Divisional seminars are offered by each of the five divisions of the department. These seminars are given by local visitors from industry and academia as well as by second-and third-year graduate students delivering their required seminars.
