Founded in 2010, the Rule of Law Collaborative (ROLC) at the University of South Carolina is committed to the development of rule of law as a discipline, the advancement of theoretical and research-based applications in the field, and the refinement of policies relating to rule of law development.

ROLC works on a global scale with local and international NGOs, government and multilateral donors, and private sector actors to:

  • Design and deliver innovative, interdisciplinary, world-class training to rule of law practitioners, including synchronous and asynchronous virtual training;
  • Implement projects which apply lessons learned and best practices from international contexts to crucial rule of law issues in the United States;
  • Bring together knowledge from high-level experts around the globe on critical, timely rule of law issues; and
  • Build a network of experts in a broad range of academic disciplines.
