USC Center for Teaching Excellence

  • Certificates of Completion: Mentoring, Fostering Proactive Learning Environments, Integrative and Experiential Learning, Mental Health and Well-being competency, Redesign for Teaching Excellence, Teaching Towards Inclusive Excellence, Teaching with the Library
  • Short courses: opportunities to learn about a particular area of teaching with the guidance of an expert colleague in that specific area
  • Communities of Practice: informal conversation and idea sharing among colleagues involved in a particular area of teaching 
  • Instructional Design Consultation: assistance for educators tailored to the educator’s specific course and learning objectives

A program designed for emerging and rising leaders at Prisma Health and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia such as program directors, vice chairs, division chiefs, and directors. University of South Carolina Office of the Vice President of Research

Advanced Support for Innovative Research Excellence (ASPIRE) Program: This initiative enhances USC's commitment to research excellence by providing faculty with funding to develop innovative projects aimed at securing extramural funding, with a focus on supporting early-career researchers. Important: Submit ASPIRE 2025 applications via USCeRA by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Propel Research Mentorship Program: This program focuses on supporting new and early-career faculty by helping them succeed in securing federal grants. Through the Propel Research Mentorship Program, participants receive nine months of intensive mentorship, education, and editing support to develop grant proposals for NIH or NSF. This program is open to assistant or associate professors new to federal grant applications, employed at USC Columbia or associated campuses. Participant requirements includes attendance at eight in-person sessions, regularly meeting with mentors, proposal submissions on schedule, and development of a competitive grant proposal. Other internal funding including RISE and SMART

University of South Carolina Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CLINTRUSC): This is an NIH/NIGMS Funded CTR-D center for clinical and translational research. Anyone engaging in clinical and/or translational research at/with USC is encouraged to engage with CLINTRUSC and its cores. CLINTRUSC has funding opportunities, data & biostatistics resources, collaboration & community engagement for C&T research, training/research series, future team science/affinity groups, and general resource for C&T research.
