Biography

Dr. Whitney Brown was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. She graduated summa cum laude from Samford University with B.S. in Biology in 1998. Dr. Brown then attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, graduating with an M.D. in 2002. She then moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where she completed a residency in pediatrics at Palmetto Richland Children's Hospital/University of South Carolina School of Medicine, serving as chief resident her last year, 2005. Dr. Brown returned to the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham to complete a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology in 2008. For the past three years she has served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga Branch, affiliated with TC Thompson Children's Hospital, specializing in pediatric endocrine disorders. Dr. Brown now welcomes the opportunity to return to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine to serve as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, specializing in the treatment of pediatric endocrine disorders.
