Biography

Dr. James Nottingham's special interests include noncardiac thoracic surgery and surgical education, as well as advanced laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery. Before accepting a position with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1998, he had established a solo private practice in general surgery in Newberry, South Carolina.

A graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, Dr. Nottingham received a doctor of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va. He completed his residency at Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia, S.C.
